Aunt Katie’s Cornbread Dressing
Ingredients
- 8 tbsp butter divided
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 1 loaf white bread crust removed and cubed
- 1 pan cornbread, crumbled She uses Jiffy
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 egg beaten
- 14 oz can of chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325
- melt 4 tbsp of butter in a large skillet
- saute onion and celery until tender
- put on lid and stew for about 10 minutes
- combine all other ingredients, plus 4 more tbsp of melted butter
- Put in a 9×13 casserole dish
- Bake 1 hour (probably less)
